Description:
Privacy and data security law is a new but rapidly developing area of the law that affects all businesses and individuals. There are vast databases of personal information that can be transferred electronically with ease. As a result, consumers (and their lawyers), regulators and lawmakers are more concerned than ever with how information is protected. There is no one across-the-board regime governing privacy and data security. Rather, legal rules dealing with the privacy and security of personal information have developed piece-meal. As a result, the legal rules are diverse and complex. This one-hour program will provide an overview of the existing and anticipated legal framework governing the protection of personal information.
