Description:

Proskauer's Labor & Employment Department Presents:
Wage And Hour Law Developments

On April 23, 2004, the United States Department of Labor published long-awaited final regulations defining the executive, administrative, professional, outside sales, and computer professional exemptions under the Fair Labor Standards Act. These final regulations will become effective on August 23, 2004, and are designed to modernize and update the "white collar" exemptions to the overtime rules. Corporate legal counsel, the proactive employer, and human resources executives and managers will need to be well prepared to respond to this new regulatory framework. Our experienced panelists will discuss the key changes made by the new regulations, analyze their impact on the workplace, provide critical insights on reclassifying employees, and describe proactive measures that employers should consider adopting now to ensure compliance with the new regulations.
