Scott K. Rutsky is a Partner in the Bankruptcy & Restructuring Group. His practice covers the entire spectrum of insolvency and financial restructurings, including complex corporate and litigation issues arising in that context. Scott has represented secured creditors, lenders, funds, factors, corporate debtors, trustees, unsecured creditors’ committees, employee benefit funds, real estate partnerships, landlords, tenants, asbestos claimants, equity holders and other parties in some of the largest and complex Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings. He also has represented parties seeking to invest in, or purchase assets of, troubled companies.
Scott’s experience covers a wide variety of businesses, including manufacturing, distribution, retail, wholesale, publishing, media, real estate, technology, franchising, health care, licensing, professional services and others. He regularly advises clients on insolvency and creditors’ rights issues arising in non-bankruptcy transactions, such as securitizations, structured financings, and mergers and acquisitions.
