C. Sanders McNew is an Associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department, resident in the Boca Raton office. His practice is focused on complex civil and class litigation, including the litigation of cross-border disputes.
A generalist, Sanders has litigated disputes arising from many subjects – telecommunications, consumer fraud, creditors’ rights, environmental torts, insurance coverage, products liability, trust restructurings, government contracts, fraudulent conveyances, securities, and civil racketeering claims. Sanders has represented plaintiffs and defendants alike in state and federal courts. He also brings substantial appellate experience to bear in analyzing the merits of cases in litigation.
Prior to joining Proskauer, Sanders was of counsel to Weitz & Luxenberg, where he was responsible for devising and implementing legal strategies for the representation of public water providers in multi-district litigation, asserting claims against oil refiners for contamination of their groundwater with the gasoline additive MTBE. Sanders also has represented tort plaintiffs’ interests in many asbestos-related bankruptcies and class actions, and litigated disputed insurance coverage issues surrounding bankrupt or defunct manufacturers of asbestos products with unexhausted policy assets.
Sanders also is a member of the International Practice Group and is a co-author (Chapter 3, Service Outside U.S.) and editor of Proskauer on International Litigation & Arbitration.
