Ronald Kornreich is a partner in the Corporate Department and a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions, Lodging & Gaming and Private Equity Real Estate Groups.

Ron has a broad-based, general corporate practice. He has handled numerous M&A transactions, including negotiating transactions, auctions and competitive bids and management buyouts, on behalf of both buyers and sellers. He also handles equity and debt financings, joint ventures, reorganizations and other business combinations.

Acting as outside general counsel to a number of his clients, Ron regularly advises on day-to-day legal, strategic and business issues, including internal restructurings, licensing matters and employment and consulting arrangements. He also assists closely held companies with new business ventures, restructuring and succession planning.

Ron represents both U.S. and non-U.S. clients engaged in a variety of businesses, including real estate, hospitality, manufacturing, technology, engineering, retail, entertainment and sports. He has extensive cross-border experience advising clients and performing transactional work in a variety of markets, including Latin America, Europe and Asia.

As a member of the Lodging & Gaming Group, Ron handles all types of matters in the hospitality industry, including hotel and casino management, licensing, franchising, financing, development, construction, leasing, acquisitions and sales. He has extensive experience negotiating hotel management agreements, having worked on projects involving the range of leading hotel companies.

Ron’s experience with the Private Equity Real Estate Group includes advising on acquisitions, dispositions, financings and joint ventures.

Representative transactions include:

  • Hotel management agreements for projects in New York, Florida, California, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe
  • American Realty Capital Hospitality Trust, Inc.’s entry into agreements to acquire a portfolio of hotels from an affiliate of Summit Hotel OP, LP
  • American Realty Capital Hospitality Trust, Inc.’s entry into an agreement to acquire a portfolio of hotels from an affiliate of Wheelock Real Estate Fund, L.P.
  • Accor’s sale of the Novotel New York Times Square hotel
  • Gehr Development’s acquisition of the Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square
  • AIG Global Real Estate’s development of the International Financial Centre mixed-use project in Seoul, Korea, including a Conrad luxury hotel, and hotel projects in India, Mexico and elsewhere
  • Ivy Equities’ purchase of the Quorum Business Center in Deerfield Beach, Florida
  • YTech International’s purchase of five multifamily complexes in Houston
  • Multiple transactions for Laird PLC, including the acquisition of Cattron Group International, Inc. and Centurion Wireless Technologies, Inc.
  • iQor Holdings Inc.’s acquisition of RMS, a leader in business-to-business accounts receivable outsourcing services
  • Numerous acquisitions of vehicle glass repair and replacement companies for Belron S.A.
