Praveena Swanson is an Associate in the Immigration & Nationality Group. She assists employers in a variety of industries in obtaining immigrant and nonimmigrant visas on behalf of their employees. She also advises clients with respect to complying with related Department of Labor regulations. In addition, Praveena manages a number of pro bono matters, including representing an asylum applicant before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

While at law school, she received the prestigious Eagleton Government Fellowship from the Eagleton Institute of Politics in New Jersey and was awarded public interest grants from the South Asian Bar Association of New York City and the Public Interest Law Foundation. Praveena gained broad experience in immigration law, interning with the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement in New York City, the Executive Office for Immigration Review’s Immigration Court in Newark and the Catholic Charities’ Immigration Assistance Program.

Praveena is the author of "State Immigration Laws put Employers on Notice," published in Employment Law360 (January 2, 2007).
