Mark Fennessy is a Partner and heads the firm's European Restructuring Group.

Mark has extensive knowledge of, and experience in, all areas of contentious and non-contentious turnaround and insolvency matters. His particular strengths lie in dealing with multifaceted group collapses and insolvency issues, which are of an international nature. Mark has been involved in a number of high profile assignments for banks and funds, various parties in relation to Lehman Brothers, the restructuring of the Cheyne Finance, Rhinebridge, Whistlejacket and Sigma Structured Investment Vehicles and has had recent involvement on Polestar and Wind Hellas as well as on MF Global, acting for the Chapter 11 statutory committees.

The work on Cheyne Finance led to Mark and the restructuring team receiving the award for "Restructuring of the Year" at the 2009 IFLR awards.

In the 2009/10 PLC Restructuring and Insolvency Handbook, Mark received the following commendation: "His cutting-edge practice includes structured investment vehicle restructuring work and hedge-fund related insolvency work."

Mark is ranked as a leading lawyer for Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency, in Chambers UK, the Legal 500 UK, as well as PLC Which Lawyer, and has been described as "dynamic" with a "very responsive and personable" team.
