Mr. Chapman is a Partner at Proskauer Rose LLP. He also is the Principal of Chapman & Co., a Hong Kong law firm registered with The Law Society of Hong Kong, that practices law in Hong Kong in association with Proskauer Rose LLP.

Jim Chapman is a Partner in the Corporate Department. He has extensive experience in company and commercial law with an emphasis on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and foreign direct investment in Asia.

Jim has been a regular speaker at the International Bar Association’s Annual Conferences. He was the honorary legal advisor to Sir Andrew Burns, the British Consul General appointed in 1997 following the handover of sovereignty to the PRC, and two of his successors, Sir James Hodge and Stephen Bradley. Additionally, he is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades recognizing him as a leader in his field. Legal 500 has described Jim as having “a formidable reputation in the corporate field.”

Prior to joining Proskauer, Jim was a senior partner and head of the corporate department at a leading Hong Kong firm. Laterally, he was General Counsel to Galaxy Entertainment Group, a publicly-listed Group in Hong Kong and the holder of a gaming concession in Macau SAR.
