Erin Aures is an Associate in the Patent Law and Intellectual Property Groups in the Litigation Department, resident in the Boston office. Erin’s practice focuses on patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution as well as intellectual property litigation. She assists clients in maintaining, developing, and enforcing patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios as well as obtaining patent, trademark, and copyright protection in the U.S. and abroad. Erin handles intellectual property due diligence for corporate financing transactions and has experience in writing opinions for patentability and freedom to operate. She represents clients in a number of technological fields including software, software development, software implemented devices, medical devices and mechanical devices.
Erin also has experience in on-line enforcement in the U.S. and internationally with organizing policing efforts, negotiating on-line takedowns and licenses as appropriate, as well as in general and intellectual property contract work including drafting general, manufacturer and distributor licenses, software licenses, and negotiating terms.
Erin received her J.D. with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law and completed the Intellectual Property Certificate program. She received the Cali Honor in her Patent Law class and was elected as a member and Technology Editor for the Connecticut Journal of International Law. While in law school, she also served as an intern for the Honorable Loraine Murphy Weil of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut and the Honorable Judge Grant Miller of the Connecticut Superior Court in Hartford Connecticut.
Erin graduated with honors from Roger Williams University, completing her BS in Computer Science, a second major in Mathematics, and two minors in Computer Information Systems and Business Management. She was admitted to and remains a member of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society. While in school, she gained valuable experience interning for Lockheed Martin Co. and after graduating continued to work at Lockheed Martin Co. as a Software Engineer prior to attending law school.
