Cécile Martin is an international counsel in labor law at Proskauer. She is a member of the International Labor & Employment Group and of the Privacy & Cybersecurity Group of the Firm.
Cécile began her career at the French Data Protection Agency (CNIL) where she earned extensive experience in data privacy. This particular skill has allowed her to intervene on both labor law and new technologies law matters, specifically on employee cyber surveillance, data transfer to foreign countries including in discovery procedures (French blocking statute law application, The Hague Convention), and framework use of social media. Cécile is the author of the Proskauer Study 2014: Social Media in the Workplace.
In addition to her strong experience in data privacy, Cecile has practiced labor and employment law for 15 years. She has developed her experience in all aspects of labor law, with a special focus on compensation policies (including material risk takers policies), discrimination litigation and corporate restructuring plans, plus the mass litigation matters that frequently follow.
Cécile’s dual competence in labor law and data privacy law enables her to stay on the cusp of unfolding developments, and at the forefront of French and international client needs.
She is a lecturer in labor law and provides many training sessions at the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) where she was named Co-Chair of the KnowledgeNet for France in 2014.
Cécile has been named a 2015 Rising Star by Décideurs magazine.
