Avram Morell is Special Immigration Counsel in the Labor & Employment Law Department. Avi’s experience includes a wide range of areas of immigration and nationality law, including counseling businesses in the hiring of foreign employees, obtaining immigrant and non-immigrant visas for professionals in a variety of industries, advising employers on all areas of immigration compliance, persuading the government to waive the two-year home country residence requirement for certain J-1 visa holders, and litigating complex political asylum and Convention Against Torture cases. He has also helped guide the firm’s pro bono Iraqi Refugee Project and was awarded Proskauer’s Pro Bono Golden Gavel Award for his contributions.
