Adam J. Kleinfeldt is an Associate in the Labor & Employment Law Department. His practice focuses on employment litigation and counseling employers.
Adam often litigates federal and state claims of discrimination before courts and government agencies. He represents employers in their defense of race, religion, sex, disability, retaliation, whistle blowing, and other civil rights claims asserted by employees, former employees, and applicants. He has extensive experience in all phases of the litigation process. In addition to litigating claims, Adam also successfully resolves them by negotiating favorable settlement agreements.
In addition, Adam regularly counsels employers and human resources professionals on various legal issues and helps them avoid litigation. He guides employers through their execution of force reductions and termination programs. He also assists employers in their investigation into claims of harassment and discrimination, and if necessary, their implementation of remedial action. Adam advises employers on their obligations and duties to provide reasonable accommodations to disabled employees and employees with certain religious beliefs. He advises employers on how to comply with their obligations under federal and state wage and leave laws. Adam drafts, updates, and revises employee handbooks and frequently conducts anti-harassment training courses for both employees and members of management.
