Overview

Our real estate finance lawyers represent numerous domestic and international institutional lenders in financings that encompass: whole loan originations; structured finance; CMBS; mezzanine debt; loan participations; preferred equity; A/B note structures; and "corporate" credit facilities to real estate funds and companies. We are equally adept at assisting borrowers, giving us the experience to understand and navigate the complexities inherent in both sides of a deal.

Recognized in US Legal 500 and in Chambers USA as “very deep and able to handle large and complex matters,” our team regularly participates in the most intricate and innovative transactions in the marketplace. As a result, we bring to our clients up-to-the-minute market knowledge and a creative and practical approach to real estate finance.

Our team is also experienced representing U.S. and international financial institutions, pension and investment funds and other organizations with substantial real estate holdings regarding non-performing real estate investments and loans. Joined by lawyers of all disciplines, we regularly assist clients in the acquisition and workout of large loan and asset portfolios, restructuring real estate debt at every level, including mezzanine financings and preferred equity, and receiverships, foreclosures and bankruptcies, which have all become increasingly important areas of the market as the implications of the global economic crisis unfold.
