Overview

The Private Credit Group is a unique middle market finance practice. The breadth and diversity of our practice is unmatched in the industry. The group was the first to dedicate its practice solely to representing providers of private credit. We represent over 50 clients, including private debt funds, business development companies, asset managers, finance companies and family offices. These lenders provide financings for transactions ranging from $10 million to more than $1 billion across a myriad of product types and industries.

The Experience to Pioneer

Our technical strength, combined with our expansive experience, makes us the Firm of choice for first-in-kind transactions. We have developed innovative structures such as upside-down unitranches and synthetic mezzanine as well as migrated the bifurcated unitranche into the European market. We have been active in the market for more than 20 years, and have participated in the evolution of a number of credit products, including senior-stretch loans, unitranche loans, second lien loans, and secured mezzanine.

Data Driven Insights

We maintain two proprietary databases, which gives us a market edge. With more than 200 searchable terms, our data provides our clients with real-time intelligence on the state of the credit markets.

Strength and Depth

We have a large team of partners and associates in key financial centers across the globe based in our offices in New York, London, Los Angeles and Boston. We have consistently closed more than 150 deals a year, which provides us with a keen insight into market trends in deals of all sizes, structures and industries. Our practice is intentionally broad and we advise on the full spectrum of financings across the capital structure, including:

  • Senior and senior-stretch loans
  • Unitranche loans
  • Second lien loans
  • Mezzanine or subordinated notes
  • Private high-yield notes
  • Holdco notes
  • Structured equity
  • Equity kickers and co-investments

All of the members of our group are cross-trained in finance matters and insolvency matters. The group also includes dedicated tax, private equity and fund formation attorneys who focus on private credit matters.
