October 25, 2007 - (New York, NY) - Proskauer Rose LLP, an international law firm with more than 750 lawyers worldwide, was named an Honor Roll recipient at the Legal Aid Society's 2007 Pro Bono Publico Awards ceremony on October 23. The Pro Bono Publico Awards recognize the outstanding pro bono commitment of New York law firms to providing access to justice for low-income children, families and individuals.
Proskauer lawyers Susan Friedfel, Harry Frischer, David Lewis and Andrew Gerber were recognized for their work with the Legal Aid Society's Juvenile Rights Practice. Joseph O'Keefe and Jason Schatz were recognized for their work with the organization's Rockefeller Re-Sentencing Project. Proskauer has worked with the young clients of the Juvenile Rights Practice to help remove legal barriers and allow them to be more easily adopted and provided counsel through the Rockefeller Re-Sentencing Project to a man who was incarcerated in federal prison, succeeding in securing him proper medical treatment after he was diagnosed with melanoma.
