FORMER FTC SENIOR LITIGATOR RHETT KRULLA JOINS WASHINGTON, DC OFFICE OF PROSKAUER ROSE

December 5, 2005 - (Washington, DC) - Proskauer Rose LLP, an international law firm with over 700 lawyers in the U.S. and Europe, announced that Rhett Krulla, a former senior litigator and trial attorney at the Federal Trade Commission, has joined the firm as a senior counsel. He is based in Proskauer's Washington, D.C. office.

While at the FTC, where he worked for over 30 years, Mr. Krulla specialized in mergers and acquisitions and antitrust litigation matters. He was lead or co-lead counsel in a number of the FTC's most significant litigated mergers in recent years including cases involving Chicago Bridge & Iron Company, N.V., Arch Coal, Inc., and Occidental Petroleum Corporation. Mr. Krulla most recently served as Deputy Assistant Director of the Mergers II Division of the FTC's Bureau of Competition.

"Rhett's addition to the firm is another important step in the growth of our corporate capabilities, where we are expanding rapidly on both the litigation and transactional sides," said Mark Biros, head of Proskauer's Washington D.C. office. "His years of experience in M&A antitrust matters in every conceivable sector, especially his trial experience, expand the firm's already significant depth and expertise and enable us to offer our clients a complete range of antitrust services."

In addition to his extraordinary trial experience at the FTC, Mr. Krulla investigated mergers and alleged anti-competitive conduct and negotiated consent decrees in a range of industries and sectors including chemicals, plastics, computer hardware and software, coal, oil, automotive, recorded music and video distribution. His experience covers antitrust matters in both mature and rapidly-evolving industries.

Proskauer Rose's Antitrust and Trade Regulation Practice litigates on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants and counsels clients in all areas of antitrust law including Hart-Scott-Rodino Act compliance in mergers and acquisitions, M&A investigations before the Department of Justice and FTC, price discrimination, licensing, distribution and marketing issues, trade association activities, joint venture and pre-merger analysis, and health care issues.
