USCIS has suddenly announced that, effective July 2, 2007, it is temporarily suspending its Premium Processing (15 day) service for Form I-140, the Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker. In anticipation that an overwhelming number of I-140 petitions will be filed with a request for Premium Processing in July, USCIS has determined that it does not have the capacity to process such a high volume of cases in the guaranteed 15 day Premium Processing period. At this time, the suspension is expected to be in place until August 1st; it may be lifted earlier if USCIS resources permit.
We anticipate that requests for Premium Processing that have been received by the Premium Processing Unit by Friday, June 29, 2007 will be accepted for Premium Processing service.
