The Legal 500 EMEA 2012 Survey Once Again Gives Proskauer Paris Office High Marks, Includes Tier One Ranking for France Employment Practice

April 4, 2012 (Paris) – Proskauer’s Paris office was recognized across a range of practices in The Legal 500 EMEA 2012, an independent guide to leading lawyers and practices in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Once again, Proskauer’s Paris employment law group, noted by The Legal 500 as “strong and committed,” was ranked as a Tier One practice. The eight-lawyer group handles issues such as discrimination, departure schemes and collective disputes, and acts for leading companies in the automotive, luxury, financial services and distribution sectors. Individual lawyers who were recognized for employment law include: Partners Yasmine Tarasewicz and Béatrice Pola and International Counsel Jean-Baptiste Martin.

Practice head Yasmine Tarasewicz was individually honored as one of only six “Leading Individuals” in France for employment law. The Legal 500 distinguished her as “one of the market’s leading advisors for complex and strategic matters.”

The firm’s Paris office was recognized in five categories. In addition to the Tier One ranking for France-Employment, Proskauer was recommended in the following areas: France-Disputes-International Arbitration; France-EU Competition & Distribution; France-Mergers & Acquisitions; France-Private Equity; and France-Private Equity: Fund Formation.

The lawyers in Proskauer’s Paris office have experience in multijurisdictional transactions that include mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate restructurings and joint ventures. The office’s labor and employment practice serves as a key component of the firm’s International Labor & Employment Group, focusing on collective bargaining, litigation and counseling with a particular emphasis on large corporate reorganizations and discrimination and wage inequality matters. The office’s litigation lawyers are known for their depth of experience and ability to address clients’ most critical needs, appearing before both French courts and international tribunals.

The Legal 500 is an independent, unbiased guide to leading lawyers that has long been one of the most esteemed surveys of European law firms. The rankings are created by a team of independent researchers, and inclusion in the guide is solely based on their findings. Legal 500 ranks all major areas of practice on a national level and some at regional and state levels. The guide is produced by UK-based Legalease, a legal publishing house responsible for Legal Business magazine and other publications covering the European and Asian legal markets for more than 20 years.
