Proskauer’s Daniel Ganitsky Wins M&A Advisor’s “40 Under 40” Recognition Award

March 26, 2012 (New York) –– Daniel Ganitsky, Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Latin America groups at Proskauer, has been named a winner of the 2012 “40 Under 40” Recognition Award by M&A Advisor. Born in Bogota, Colombia, Mr. Ganitsky focuses his practice on representing acquirers, targets and financial advisors in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. Mr. Ganitsky, a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law and Columbia College, is the first Hispanic to ever win this award.  

 

Since the beginning of 2011, Mr. Ganitsky has been particularly active in Proskauer’s representation of clients in cross border matters, public company transactions and private equity investments.  Among the transactions that he has worked on during that period are representing Iochpe-Maxion in its acquisition of Hayes Lemmerz; Copal Partners in the sale of a majority stake to Moody's; Morgan Stanley as financial advisor to ProLogis in the ProLogis/AMB merger of equals; an affiliate of Ares Management in its acquisition of Global Defense Technology and System; Hale & Hearty Soups in the sale of a majority interest to TriPointe Capital Partners; Computec (a publicly traded Colombian company) in its acquisition by Experian; Brasbunker Participações in its pending acquisition of the U.S. Marine Offshore Division of Veolia; and Zumba Fitness in the sale of a minority interest to Insight Venture Partners and The Raine Group.

 

The 2012 “40 Under 40” Recognition Awards were created by M&A Advisor to recognize the achievements of the next generation of M&A, financing and turnaround professionals. The award celebrates those professionals who have reached a significant level of success in the industry while under the age of 40. An independent committee of industry business leaders judges the nominations according to nominees’ career accomplishments and professional expertise. The awards gala is slated to take place later this spring.
