Proskauer Earns Top Spot Among Nation’s Most Powerful Employment Attorneys for Third Consecutive Year
June 18, 2012 (New York) – For the third straight year, Proskauer’s Labor & Employment Law Department has topped the list of "The Nation’s Most Powerful Employment Attorneys" with 16 partners named to the rankings, which are produced annually by Human Resource Executive and Lawdragon magazines. Holding more spots than any other firm, the partners named to the list span Proskauer offices in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Chicago, New Orleans and Boca Raton, underscoring the national breadth and depth of the firm’s labor and employment practice.
Seven of the firm’s labor and employment partners were listed among the “Top 100 Most Powerful Employment Attorneys of 2012”: Rory Judd Albert, Joseph Baumgarten, Elise M. Bloom, Anthony J. Oncidi, Bettina B. Plevan, Paul Salvatore and Allan Weitzman.
Paul M. Hamburger, Andrea Rattner and Howard Shapiro were named the “Top 20 in Employee Benefits,” while Bob Batterman, Howard Ganz and Bernard Plum were ranked among the “Top 20 in Labor and Management.” Katharine H. Parker, Michael J. Lebowich, and Nigel F. Telman were acknowledged among the “Top 40 ‘Up and Comers,’” which recognizes accomplished employment and labor star lawyers most likely to place in the Top 100 or one of the Top 20 lists in the future.
Proskauer’s leading rankings in the Human Resource Executive/ Lawdragon survey cap a recent period of significant marketplace recognition for the firm’s Labor & Employment Law Department:
- On June 7, Chambers and Partners honored the Department with its prestigious 2012 Chambers USA Award for Excellence, selecting the firm from among seven nominated national labor and employment practices.
- On June 6, the Department was also recognized by Chambers USA 2012 with leading national and local rankings and commentary, including Band One rankings for ERISA Litigation (Nationwide) and Labor & Employment (New York) – the only firm to earn a Band One ranking in New York.
- On May 30, the Department scored five first-tier ratings – the most of any firm – in Legal 500 United States 2012 in the areas of Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation, ERISA Litigation, Employment Litigation, Management Relations and Workplace & Employment Counseling.
