Proskauer Awarded 2011 Empire State Counsel Gold Supporter Award For Pro Bono Initiatives
139 Firm Lawyers Received Honors For Pro Bono Work
January 26, 2012 (New York) – The New York State Bar Association honored Proskauer and recognized a record 139 firm lawyers as Empire State Counsel at its annual “Justice for All” luncheon.
Proskauer received the 2011 Empire State Counsel Gold Supporter Award in recognition of the firm’s pro bono work for low-income New Yorkers and community groups that promote justice and equality. This year, 139 Proskauer lawyers received the Empire State Counsel Honor for contributing a combined 21,000 hours to pro bono initiatives.
The Empire State Counsel program was created in 2006 to give special recognition to NYSBA members who provide 50 hours of pro bono legal services in a calendar year. The program celebrates the idea that pro bono service by qualified lawyers can change the lives of those unable to afford counsel and can help them achieve justice.
