Proskauer Provides iPads to Lawyers Firmwide
April 20, 2011 (New York)—Proskauer announced that it will provide iPad2s to its lawyers firmwide. The rollout began this week and is scheduled to continue through mid-May, with 500 iPads being distributed to lawyers who have requested one.
The iPads will come equipped with a pre-installed suite of business applications, including DocsToGo and Goodreader. Training videos and podcasts will also be installed on the devices, and the firm will offer training sessions and an iPad Discussion Board, where lawyers can share ideas and information.
“The iPad will enhance our lawyers’ ability to continue to provide first-rate and efficient service to our clients,” said Arthur T. Gurwitz, Chief Operating Officer of Proskauer. “As a result of initial usage by many of our Partners, we’ve found the iPads to be highly effective communication and productivity tools both inside and outside of the office.”
By using the iPad, Proskauer’s lawyers will not only be able to manage email and review attachments and other electronic documents, but also participate in conference calls remotely while following a PowerPoint presentation on the device, carry large documents and transcripts between work, home, court and client meetings, and use it as a “virtual assistant” while traveling.
