February 20, 2015 (New York) – Global law firm Proskauer has been recognized for its diversity by the New York Law Journal’s 2015 Diversity Initiative Project. This year, the project recognized nine law firms and law-based organizations that have both shown a commitment to creating a diverse legal community and made sustained efforts to reach that goal.
According to the New York Law Journal, this year’s honorees have “confronted barriers to attracting, training, retaining or supporting diverse talent, and created realistic initiatives to overcome those obstacles and provide ongoing opportunities for growth and advancement.”
Proskauer was recognized, in part, for introducing two creative programs in 2014 to support and retain women and diverse lawyers:
- The Women’s Sponsorship Program matches prominent partners with high-achieving female associates to increase the retention and professional success of such women.
- The Diverse Lawyer Mentoring Circle Program amplifies the core benefits of individual mentoring — coaching, counseling and networking — by creating circles of mentor-mentee pairs, which provide mentees with exposure to a range of working approaches, management styles, insights and networks.
