June 27, 2017 (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Proskauer’s DC office teamed up with Bloomberg BNA and the Anacostia Watershed Society in a canoe cleanup of the Anacostia River and its wetlands at the Bladensburg Waterfront Park. Our 23 volunteers removed more than 700 pounds of trash including 27 bags of recyclables.

“While it felt like our efforts were small, the results were undeniable when we saw the more than 40 large garbage bags of trash lined up along the dock,” said Annie Zhang, DC summer associate.

Partnering for the third consecutive year on this joint effort with Bloomberg, we have helped the Anacostia Watershed Society move closer to their goal of making the river and its tributaries swimmable and fishable, aligning with the Clean Water Act.
