| Biography:
Andrew M. Katzenstein is a partner in the Personal Planning Department of Proskauer Rose’s Los Angeles office. He focuses his practice on estate, gift and generation-skipping tax planning; income tax of trust planning; and probate and trust administration matters, including resolving disputes between fiduciaries and beneficiaries. Andy also devotes a significant portion of his practice to charitable organization matters.
Andy has taught Estate Tax at UCLA Law School since 1992, and previously taught Estate Planning and Advanced Estate Planning in the Graduate Tax Program at the University of San Diego and at Golden Gate University. He is a frequent lecturer on a variety of estate planning and tax related topics, appearing annually before the Los Angeles County, Beverly Hills and California State Bar Associations. In addition, Andy has participated in the prestigious USC Tax Institute and the USC Probate and Trust Law Conference, and has lectured in Europe, Canada and across the United States. He is also a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
Andy has published numerous articles in Estate Planning Magazine, the Journal of Taxation and Taxes Magazine, and was one of the principal contributors to the probate treatise “Marshall and Garb on Probate.” He served as host of KFNX’s weekly radio talk show “Principal of the Matter,” which addressed a variety of trust and estate planning topics. Andy has also been recognized by Worth Magazine as a "Top 100 Attorney" in 2006 and 2007.
Andy received his Bachelor of Arts, with high honors, from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. He received his LL.M. from the University of San Diego.
