| Biography:
Daniel Schmidt is a partner in Proskauer’s Paris Office where he specializes in the legal and taxation aspects of private equity investment funds, LBOs and venture capital; mergers and acquisitions; restructuring; finance; and capital markets, such as IPOs and public buy-back offers.
As a member of the AFIC, the French private equity association, and Vice Chairman of the Tax and Legal Committee, Daniel has been involved in drafting legal and taxation documents relating to venture investment funds/mutual funds for investment in innovation and venture capital companies. For six years, he served as Chairman of the AFIC Code of Ethics Committee, drafting the AFIC and AFG-ASFI’s Code of Ethics. Daniel is also a member of the AFG Capital Investment Committee and the EVCA Tax and Legal Committee.
He has authored a number of works on the legal and taxation aspects of venture investment funds and venture capital companies.
Daniel graduated from the University of Montpellier (DJCE and Master’s Degree in Business and Taxation law) and was called to the Paris Bar in 1975.
