| Biography:
Montaye Sigmon is an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department of Proskauer’s Los Angeles Office. Montaye handles a broad range of litigation matters in both federal and state courts. She has litigated disputes involving misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duties, allegations of unfair business practices, and patent, copyright, and trademark infringement. Montaye is also involved in pro bono projects such as authoring part of an amicus brief to the United States Supreme Court in the District of Columbia v. Heller case in which the District’s ban on handguns was challenged.
Montaye received her J.D., cum laude, from Duke University School of Law in 2004, and received her B.A. from Duke University. While in law school, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Duke Journal of Gender Law & Policy. Before coming to Proskauer, Montaye worked as a litigation associate at a mid-sized firm in North Carolina.
