Melissa Ganz is an associate in the Patent Law and Intellectual Property Practice Groups at Proskauer Rose LLP. Melissa’s practice concentrates on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, through litigation and alternative methods of dispute resolution.
Prior to joining Proskauer, Melissa was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York and represented clients in connection with patent infringement suits, as well as trademark registration and litigation. Her recent experience includes participating in the defense of a manufacturer against allegations of trade secret infringement.
Melissa is a graduate of Duke University Law School, where she was the Year-in-Review editor for the Alaska Law Review, a senior staff editor of the Duke Law & Technology Review, and helped revive Duke’s Health Law Society. She received her B.A. in the History and Sociology of Science, with a concentration in bioethics, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
Melissa was named as an honoree at Legal Services of New York’s 2007 pro bono awards for her work in assisting low income residents avoid unwarranted evictions.
Melissa is admitted to the New York Bar; the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit; the Southern District of New York; and the Eastern District of New York. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, and the American Society for Bioethics & Humanities.
