Sam Cleaver is an associate in the Labor and Employment Department in Proskauer Rose’s Los Angeles office. He represents employers in all aspects of employment law. He has experience litigating employment discrimination and wrongful termination claims in both state and federal court. Mr. Cleaver also provides preventative counseling to employers on topics such as wage and hour issues and class action avoidance, sexual harassment investigations, electronic privacy and the internet in the workplace.

Mr. Cleaver received his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and his B.A. with High Distinction as well as an M.F.A. degree in writing from the University of Virginia. During law school, Mr. Cleaver worked as an extern to an administrative judge in the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s Federal Hearings Office. He also engaged in pro bono activities including drafting and updating employee handbooks for non-profit organizations as well as counseling non-profits on compliance with state and federal employment laws and wage and hour regulations.
