| Biography:
Michael K. Harrington is senior counsel in the Corporate Department of the Boston office of Proskauer Rose LLP. He has experience in a wide range of corporate areas, including private equity, buyout and venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions, secondary transactions, start-up company representation, corporate finance and general corporate and securities law. Mr. Harrington is a member of the Firm’s Private Equity/M&A Group. He has worked with a number of prominent private equity, mezzanine and venture firms, including Spectrum Equity, Fidelity Capital, Washington & Congress Partners, Tremont Associates, Gemini Investors, Landmark Partners, TA Associates, Great Hill Partners, NetVentures, Citizens Capital, Adams Street Partners, Golub Capital, Abingworth Management, and Nautic Partners, in transactions of up to $500 million.
In addition, Mr. Harrington has also worked with a number of private and public company clients, helping them carry out their business plans through structuring and closing transactions, including private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and IPOs. Several of these clients, including Signature Media Group, Affiliated Managers Group, Voyager.net and Crescent Communications, have successfully executed roll-ups of businesses within specific industries. Mr. Harrington has also helped a number of clients effect the divestiture of business lines and portfolio companies. Mr. Harrington represents a number of private companies as outside general counsel, handling a wide variety of legal matters.
Mr. Harrington received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and an M.B.A. from Fordham University Graduate School of Business in 1994. While at Fordham, Mr. Harrington was a member of the Fordham Law Review and the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. He received a B.A. in History from Williams College in 1988.
Mr. Harrington is a member of the Massachusetts (1994), New York (2000), and American bar associations.
Mr. Harrington serves on the Board of Directors of Good Sports, Inc., a non-profit company helping underserved children gain access to sports and athletics.
