| Biography:
Pankaj Desai is a technology specialist in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution
Department and is resident in the Boston office of Proskauer Rose.
Dr. Desai received a B.S. in chemistry in 1991 and a M.S. in organic chemistry
in 1993 from the University of Bombay, India; his Ph.D. in chemistry in 2002
from the University of Kansas; and is a candidate for Juris Doctor at Suffolk
University Law School (2010).
Dr. Desai is a member of the Patent Law and the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical
& Medical Technology Groups. Dr. Desai has experience in all matters of
U.S. and foreign patent prosecution related to pharmaceuticals, chemicals and
biotechnology. He researches and identifies issues affecting patentability of
inventions, evaluates patent validity, and is involved in opinion work and due
diligence reviews. He also provides technical support in matters involving litigation
of pharmaceutical and biotech patents.
Prior to joining Proskauer Rose, Dr. Desai worked as a Research Associate in
the Department of Chemistry at The Scripps Research Institute. He has broad
research training in synthetic organic chemistry including development of new
methodologies and total synthesis of alkaloids and peptide based natural products.
Dr. Desai is a member of the American Chemical Society.
