| Biography:
David W. Laub is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department
of Proskauer Rose LLP and is resident in the Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Laub
is a member of the Intellectual Property, Patent Law and the Life Sciences,
Pharmaceutical & Medical Technology Practice Groups.
Mr. Laub counsels clients on intellectual property matters, focusing on patent
matters in the fields of mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies, medical
devices, electrical arts, software, and business methods. Mr. Laub's practice
emphasizes preparation and prosecution of domestic and foreign utility and design
patents, intellectual property due diligence, counseling and licensing transactions,
and litigation of patent and trade secret matters.
Mr. Laub manages large multinational patent portfolios and is experienced in
the strategic development, enforcement, maintenance and licensing of patents
on a worldwide basis. He has been responsible for the preparation and prosecution
of hundreds of utility and design patents. He has identified core technologies
for patent protection, and has obtained and enforced patent protection for these
core technologies. He has experience with all phases of litigation including
initial pleadings, discovery practice, motions practice, trial and settlement.
Mr. Laub previously served as intellectual property counsel at Siemens Corporation.
He was formerly a Primary Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Laub received his B.Eng. in mechanical engineering in 1989 from the State
University of New York at Stony Brook, and his J.D., magna cum laude in 1995
from American University, Washington College of Law.
He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and the United
States Patent and Trademark Office.
