| Biography:
Keith Butler is an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department
and is resident in the Los Angeles office of Proskauer Rose LLP.
Mr. Butler has a diverse commercial litigation practice involving complex matters
in state courts, federal courts, and arbitration proceedings. Mr. Butler has
represented biotech and pharmaceutical companies, software companies, entertainment
companies, and utilities, among others. Mr. Butler has particular experience
in antitrust as well as commercial contracts and licensing agreements. In addition
to his litigation practice, Mr. Butler also advises clients on antitrust and
regulatory issues arising in connection with mergers and acquisitions, corporate
governance, and government investigations. Mr. Butler has substantial international
legal experience, having represented a variety of prominent companies seeking
regulatory clearance from the European Commission.
Prior to joining Proskauer, Mr. Butler was an associate at Latham & Watkins
and Morrison & Foerster. Mr. Butler received his J.D. with honors from the
University of Washington School of Law, where he served as Executive Articles
Editor for the Washington Law Review. Mr. Butler also has a B.A., M.A.,
and Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin.
As a professor of philosophy at various institutions, including Washington
University, the College of William & Mary, and others, Mr. Butler was the
published author of a book on cognition and dozens of articles in peer-reviewed
journals. Mr. Butler is also a contributing author to the "Relevant Markets"
chapter in the forthcoming sixth edition of Antitrust Law Developments.
