| Biography:
David Grunblatt, is a partner in Proskauer Rose's Labor & Employment Law
Department, residing in the Newark office.
As head of the corporate immigration practice for Proskauer Rose, David has
had considerable experience counseling clients regarding all types of immigration
law issues. He has extensive experience guiding corporations as to their policies
and programs to facilitate hiring and transferring of foreign nationals and
international personnel, using the full array of nonimmigrant and immigrant
visa categories.
David is an established authority on the I-9 program, the other recordkeeping
and compliance programs necessitated under Immigration and Nationality Law,
and complex immigration issues resulting from mergers, acquisitions and other
corporate changes. For 30 years he has advised corporations, high-net-worth
individuals and not-for-profit organizations on personal immigration issues,
including family immigration, exclusion and removal [deportability], U.S investment
and tax-related immigration matters.
David has served as counsel to several significantly known financial institutions
such as HSBC, among others. His knowledge and breadth of experience has enabled
him to become an expert in training, developing and supervising teams of lawyers
and legal assistants.
Prior to joining Proskauer Rose, David was a partner and head of the corporate
immigration practice for Wildes, Weinberg, Grunblatt & Wildes, P.C., where
he practiced for over 20 years.
Within the legal community, David is known as a leader, having held a number
of leadership positions in the immigration and nationality law bar. He served
as Chair of the New York Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association,
is the former Chair of the Association's National Committee on Ethics and Professional
Responsibility, and the current and former Chair of the Vermont Service Center
Liaison Committee.
He was the Chair of the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Immigration
and Nationality Law at the New York County Lawyer's Association, directing its
Continuing Legal Education program on Immigration and Nationality Law and its
Pro Bono Immigration Defense Project. He lectures and writes extensively on
the subject of immigration and nationality law for many nationally known seminars
and publications.
David has also been identified by several renowned firm-ranking publications
as an expert in his field. He has been identified as one of the "New York
Area's Best Lawyers" in New York Magazine and as one of the "Best
Lawyers in America."
David is a graduate of New York University School of Law, where he was also
awarded an L.L.M. degree in Taxation.
