| Biography:
Valerie Lafarge-Sarkozy is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and is resident in the Paris office. Her practice is focused in both general commercial litigation and health care law.
Valerie and her team of lawyers advise clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, food product, cosmetics, pesticide and agri-food industries. She advises them in civil liability (e.g., Hepatitis B vaccinations, cerivastatine and asbestos) in terms of crisis management, complex litigation and mass suits.
Valerie also advises clients on regulatory issues and assists in their relationships with the relevant administrative authorities (e.g., AFSSAPS and the AFSSA). She handles contracts for clinical trials, marketing authorization transfers, and production and corporate transactions and also advises clients on strategic projects, such as advertising, marketing labeling, Internet-related issues and parallel import.
Valerie has considerable experience in company law, commercial law, banking law and bankruptcy, in areas such as directors and auditors liability, conflicts between shareholders, commercial contractual disputes, legal advice and assistance to the debtors and creditors in bankruptcy, granting or withdrawal of credit, and validity of financial agreements.
Valerie appears before the specialized commercial courts of France and the courts of general jurisdiction at the trial and appellate levels in the defense of her clients’ interests in a wide range of matters, including product liability and professional liability (executive, statutory auditor, accountants and banking liability).
Valerie received her Masters of Business Law from Paris II University. She is also a regular speaker on liability issues and pharmaceutical law.
