| Biography:
Sandra A. Brockman-Lee is an associate in the Patent Law and Intellectual Property
Practice Groups at Proskauer Rose LLP. Dr. Brockman-Lee's practice focuses on
the development and maintenance of patent portfolios primarily in the life sciences.
She has substantial experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications
in the U.S. and internationally, as well as experience in intellectual property
due diligence, infringement/non-infringement opinions, patentability studies
and intellectual property licensing.
Dr. Brockman-Lee's technical experience includes nucleic acid technology such
as somatic cell genetics, detection assays, sequencing, encoded libraries such
as ribosome-, tRNA, and mRNA display libraries; methods of treatment, diagnostic
kits and compositions in the areas of gene therapy, dermatology, diabetes, and
Alzheimer's Disease; immunology, including antigen presentation and antibody
production; and other areas, such as microscopic techniques and equipment, fluorescence-activated
cell sorting, biopolymers, peptide nucleic acid, blood products, packaging,
metal powders and nutriceuticals.
Dr. Brockman-Lee received her B.S. in microbiology from the University of California
at Los Angeles; her Ph.D. in biological sciences from Carnegie Mellon; and her
J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School.
Dr. Brockman-Lee is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar (2003) and is registered
to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (1998). She is also a member of the New York Biotechnology Association.
