José M. Padilla is an associate in the Corporate Department of the Washington, D.C. office of Proskauer Rose LLP.
He has experience in a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and financings, as well as general corporate and securities law matters.
His practice includes representation of technology and growth companies, underwriters, private equity firms, and venture capital funds, as well as other private and public company clients.
Representative transactions include:
- Acquisition of ConnectYourCare, LLC, a healthcare technology company, by Express Scripts;
- Initial public offering of Intellon Corporation, a powerline communications technology company;
- Purchase by Texas Pacific Group of Surgical Care Affiliates, the ambulatory surgery center division of HealthSouth;
- Paladin Capital Group’s recapitalization and acquisition of a late-stage private company;
- Series B financing of Avail Media, Inc., an IPTV technology company, by Valhalla Partners; and
- Serving as outside counsel to Bridgeborn, Inc., a systems design and engineering integration company, on general corporate matters.
José received his A.B., cum laude, from Harvard University and his J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia and Texas.
José is fluent in Spanish, French and Italian, and is proficient in Russian.
