Sarah K. Cherry is an associate in the Corporate Department and a member of the Private Investment Funds Group at Proskauer Rose LLP. Sarah has a general corporate practice with a particular emphasis on representing U.S. and non-U.S. private equity funds and managers in capital formation, regulatory compliance and operational issues. Sarah also regularly represents institutional investors, venture capital funds, private equity funds and funds-of-funds in their portfolio investments, including investments in operating companies, investments in U.S. and non-U.S. private equity funds and secondary transactions. In addition, Sarah advises clients in relation to internal general partner dynamics and management company issues.
Prior to joining Proskauer Rose, Sarah practiced at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, where she focused on representing venture capital funds and private and public growth-oriented companies in emerging and high-technology industries.
Sarah received her Bachelor of Commerce degree, with honours, from The University of British Columbia in 1998 and was designated a Wesbrook Scholar. She received her J.D. from The University of Toronto in 2001.
Sarah was admitted to the Bar in Massachusetts (January 2002).
Sarah was selected as a “Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star” in 2007.
