Biography:

Patrick J. Myers is an associate in the Patent Law and Intellectual Property Practice Groups of Proskauer Rose LLP.

Patrick received his B.A. in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1998 and received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Suffolk University in 2007.

Patrick's practice focuses primarily on patent litigation and infringement defense. He counsels clients on all aspects of discovery, litigation strategy, damages, and substantive technical issues, including infringement, invalidity, and product redesign. Patrick has represented both patent holders and defendants.

Patrick assists clients in developing patent portfolios and obtaining patent protection in the U.S. and abroad. His areas of concentration include patent prosecution; product clearance; patent validity and infringement analyses; and intellectual property due diligence in corporate transactions.

Patrick has experience in the technology fields of network and Internet-related technology, Voice over IP, satellite communications, RFID systems, hardware-simulation software, hardware and software fault-tolerance, as well as a broad variety of software technologies including C, C++, Java, .NET, Perl, XML, SQL, Windows, Linux, OS X, and OpenBSD.

Prior to joining Proskauer Rose, Patrick was a Software Engineer at Molecular, Inc., a technology consulting firm specializing in Internet-based solutions. While at Molecular, Patrick was involved in a wide array of projects including developing the Member Self-Service portal for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts, consolidating the online product channels for PerkinElmer Life Sciences and PerkinElmer Analytical Instruments, and leading the development of Harvard Business School Publishing's upsell and cross-sell functionality. Patrick also worked extensively with Analog Devices, Inc. to implement a Content Management System to manage ADI's Product and Process Change Notifications, as well as the search functionality for their U.S. and Japanese websites.
