| Biography:
Meredith C. Bailey is a Labor & Employment associate in the Washington, DC office of Proskauer Rose LLP.
Meredith represents employers in both state and federal courts. She has experience litigating and counseling employers regarding a variety of employment-related issues, including employee terminations, contract disputes, wage and hour issues, employee leave policies, hiring policies and procedures, privacy issues, fair employment practices, and other personnel policies. Meredith was a principal author on an amicus curiae brief filed with the United States Supreme Court on behalf of the United States Chamber of Commerce in Federal Express Corporation v. Paul Holowecki, et al., No. 06-1322.
Meredith began her career at Proskauer as a Health Care associate, and is therefore uniquely suited to counsel employers with respect to health care benefits policies and compliance with medical privacy statutes, such as HIPAA. Prior to joining Proskauer, Meredith was a law clerk with the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, DC, where she investigated mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures in the health care industry for potential antitrust violations. While there, she conducted investigational hearings and prepared recommendation and merger retrospective memoranda for the Bureau of Competition Management and the Commission.
Meredith received her JD in 2004 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, where she served as Articles and Student Notes Editor for the First Amendment Law Review. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with distinction, in 2001, where she was elected as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She is a member of the Massachusetts and District of Columbia Bars.
