| Biography:
Enzo Der Boghossian is a senior associate in the Labor and Employment Department in Proskauer Rose’s Los Angeles office. He has represented employers in state and federal courts in defending against a broad range of labor and employment claims. His experience includes the defense of major statewide and nationwide wage and hour class action claims brought against Fortune 100 companies involving meal break, rest break, misclassification, uniform, on-call, bonus and work-off-the-clock allegations.
Mr. Der Boghossian also has extensive experience in litigating employment discrimination and wrongful termination claims. He has successfully resolved cases involving claims of disability, age, race, gender and sexual orientation discrimination as well as retaliation, sexual harassment, and breach of contract.
Mr. Der Boghossian has regularly provided advice and counseling to employers on a wide variety of issues and has prepared employee handbooks and other employment-related materials. His experience in assisting employers outside of litigation includes conducting employee training and investigations, as well as assisting in the resolution of employee grievances. In addition, Mr. Der Boghossian has successfully guided employers through compliance audits and investigations conducted by state and federal agencies.
Mr. Der Boghossian’s legal practice has also included work in the area of intellectual property, gaining him valuable experience in the areas of trademark, copyright, false advertising and unfair competition law.
Mr. Der Boghossian received his B.A. with High Distinction from the University of California at Berkeley in 1997 and his J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law in 2000, where he was Chief Articles Editor for the UCLA Bulletin of Law and Technology, a staff member for the Entertainment Law Review, and a member of the Moot Court Honors Program.
Prior to graduating law school, Mr. Der Boghossian was involved in several volunteer legal activities, including the preparation of misdemeanor prosecutions at the Criminal Law Branch of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office and the organization of family law workshops and pro bono legal consultations at the Alameda County Bar Association Volunteer Legal Services Center. He has subsequently provided pro bono services to organizations that assist battered and abused women.
In 2006, 2007 and 2008, Mr. Der Boghossian was recognized by Los Angeles magazine as one of “Southern California Super Lawyers – Rising Stars,” placing him among the top 2.5 percent of the best up-and-coming attorneys in Southern California who are 40 years of age and under, or who have been practicing 10 years or less.
