| Biography:
Gary W. Kovacs is an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department
and is resident in Proskauer's Boca Raton office.
He has worked on a variety of complex commercial litigation cases including
corporate, breach of contract, trade secret, real estate, and partnership dissolutions.
Gary has represented large international organizations including ABN-AMRO, NEC,
LaSalle National Bank, Weatherford International, Abbott Laboratories, CL Financial
Ltd., CSL Limited and National Seating Company. Gary is highly effective in
alternative dispute resolution proceedings and has resolved numerous multimillion
dollar claims in mediation and arbitration proceedings.
Before going into private practice, Gary was an Assistant State Attorney for
the office of the State Attorney in Broward County, where he conducted over
100 jury trials. Gary also served as a supervisor for the misdemeanor trial
unit. Prior to graduating from law school, Gary gained corporate experience
as both a marketing representative and a commercial loan officer.
Gary obtained his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law
Center in 1993, where he served on the Moot Court Board of Editors. He earned
his M.B.A. from Nova Southeastern University in 1988 and received the Academic
Achievement Award and was on the National Dean's List. Gary received his B.A.
in business management from North Central College in 1986, where he was recognized
in Who's Who Among American College Students in 1986.
He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Florida Bar and is a
member of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar. He is admitted to practice
in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court,
S.D. and M.D. of Florida.
Gary lives in Boca Raton with his wife, Lori, who is also an attorney, and their
two children.
