| Biography:
Anthony Pacheco is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and is resident in the Los Angeles office of Proskauer Rose. Anthony’s practice is focused on litigation and quasi-litigation matters, specializing in special investigations. He is the Deputy Chair of the Firm’s Corporate Defense & Investigations Practice Group.
Mr. Pacheco has represented brokerages, banks, corporations, municipalities, studios, and individuals in Grand Jury, SEC, NASD, NYSE, NFA, CFTC, AAA, JAMS, Special Master, MTA, Special Committee, and state and federal judicial proceedings and trials. Mr. Pacheco also has represented individuals and corporations in international proceedings (amnesty from prosecution, information requests and extradition matters) and has experience with wrongful death and industrial accident matters.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Pacheco was a partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, where he had a white-collar criminal defense and civil litigation practice.
Mr. Pacheco is a former Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California. He participated in all aspects of federal criminal prosecution, including federal jury trials ranging from bribery of a U.S. Consular official in Belize, to hostage takeover bank robberies, to illegal trafficking in counterfeit access devices. Mr. Pacheco was involved in the investigation and prosecution of investor and financial institution fraud, domestic and international money laundering, and narcotics crimes. Mr. Pacheco represented the United States in international proceedings, including the extradition of fugitives from foreign states and appointment as a Commissioner for Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty requests and Letters Rogatory.
As an Assistant United States Attorney, Mr. Pacheco lectured at the Trial Advocacy Institute, Attorney General's National Advocacy Center, which provides training in criminal practice and trial advocacy to prosecutors throughout the United States and its territories. Mr. Pacheco lectured on numerous occasions at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Immigration and Naturalization Service, the Southern California Drug Task Force, and the Bureau of Land Management regarding the enforcement of federal criminal laws and criminal procedure. Mr. Pacheco also lectured to a delegation of judges and prosecutors from the People's Republic of China regarding the American criminal justice system, and to prosecutors from South Korea regarding American criminal procedure.
