| Biography:
Jessica Freiheit is an attorney in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department of Proskauer’s Los Angeles office, and a member of Proskauer’s International Practice Group and Intellectual Property Practice Group. Jessica has substantive experience in complex commercial litigation for corporate and individual clients before federal and state courts, as well before arbitral panels.
Jessica has represented national and international clients in a wide variety of commercial disputes including breach of contract, business tort, fraud, patent infringement, copyright infringement, unfair competition, and antitrust claims. Jessica has also represented clients in SEC enforcement actions and criminal investigations.
Jessica’s recent representations include:
• Defending a multi-national medical products manufacturer in a U.S. patent infringement suit
• Defending an internet-based human resource support company in a copyright infringement suit
• Pursuing claims of fraud and breach of contract on behalf of a French telecom
• Defending environmental engineering and consulting companies in a breach of contract litigation
• Defending a multi-national trading company against breach of contract claims in a AAA arbitration
Jessica writes on recent developments in international law, and has authored a chapter on choice of law issues in Proskauer on International Litigation and Arbitration: Managing, Resolving, and Avoiding Cross-Border Business or Regulatory Disputes.
Jessica is a member of the Bar of the State of New York, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Jessica is a member of the Intellectual Property Section and Antitrust Section of the New York State Bar Association and is a member of the Children and the Law Section of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
Jessica graduated, with distinction, from McGill University, School of Law, in 2001, where she was Book Editor of the McGill Law Journal.
