| Biography:
Michael Callahan is an associate in Proskauer’s Corporate Department in the New York office. He is a general corporate lawyer with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, and corporate finance transactions. In addition, Michael has substantial experience representing sports leagues and teams in various corporate matters.
Michael has represented large institutional investors as well as private equity and venture capital funds in connection with numerous portfolio investments, financial and strategic acquisitions, dispositions, and other business combination transactions. He also has worked with several hedge funds in connection with their investments in companies with publicly traded securities.
Michael’s sports experience includes the representation of the National Basketball Association and National Hockey League in their various corporate matters, including team ownership transfers and team financings. He also has represented the New York Jets and the Florida Marlins in connection with their financings and stadium matters.
Michael received his J.D., with honors, from the Rutgers School of Law-Newark in 2001 where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Drew University in 1997.
