| Biography:
Béatrice Pola joined Proskauer Rose's Labor and Employment Department
in 2000 as an associate working from the Firm's Paris office location. She was
made partner in 2004 and represents some of France's largest employers in the
automobile, paint, photo manufacturing, financial services and entertainment
industries. She also regularly represents employers in litigation against unions
and work councils. Her practice concentrates largely on French labor law issues
for employers involved in cases concerning persons working in France, or French
expatriates when local law may apply.
Béatrice also counsels clients in all areas of employment-related issues
including, but not restricted to, hiring, termination, wrongful dismissal, collective
layoffs, discrimination, application of collective agreements, individual settlement
agreements, temporary employment contracts and union or personnel representative
electoral procedures. She has significant experience handling hearings and regularly
appears before labor and criminal courts as well as courts of general jurisdiction.
Béatrice is a graduate of Toulouse University, with a master's degree,
first in private law in 1989, and later post-graduate degrees in business law
and litigation. She has been a member of the Paris Bar since 1992, and lectures
to students preparing for the Bar Admission examination. She is a French citizen,
and fluent in English. Her published work includes Private Individuals' Excessive
Debt, The Application Of The Law On Private Individuals' Excessive Debt,
and other articles in specialist labor law publications.
