Marvin has represented employers in all aspects of labor and employee relations law since 1970.  He has negotiated collective bargaining agreements in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, banking, retail, health care, restaurant, trucking, warehouse and distribution, and auto rental.  He has also negotiated a number of innovative long-term labor management cooperation agreements for troubled companies and has counseled clients concerning strategic labor relations issues in mergers and acquisitions.

Marvin also has a nationwide employment litigation practice where he represents employers in both state and federal courts.  He represents employers in employment arbitration, labor arbitration, and before administrative boards such as the NLRB and various civil rights agencies.  And he represents employers in the securities industry where he regularly arbitrates employment matters before the NASD and the New York Stock Exchange.  Among his clients are Prudential Financial, Inc.; UBS Financial Services Inc.; Bed Bath & Beyond Inc.; Pathmark Stores, Inc.; CBS Outdoor; and The Purdue Frederick Company.

Marvin also devotes a substantial amount of time counseling clients on how to avoid litigation.  He provides ongoing practical advice to clients on such matters as employee terminations, reductions-in-force, severance programs, and government compliance issues.

Marvin has been recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” for the past 25 years and was ranked among the top 100 lawyers in the state of New Jersey by New Jersey Monthly magazine in 2008. He is listed in both the 2007 edition of Chambers USA – America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers for Labor and Employment Law.  Marvin was also recognized as one of the “2008 BTI Client Service All-Stars,” a group of 134 attorneys selected by 200 corporate counsel at large and Fortune 1000 companies for delivering the best client service.

An active speaker and writer on labor and employment law issues, Marvin is also co-editor of West Publishing's New Jersey Practice treatise entitled Employment Law, which was republished in 2005 and is updated annually.

Marvin graduated from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations in 1966 and Boston University School of Law in 1969.  He is a member of both the New Jersey and New York Bars.
