| Biography:
Amanda H. Nussbaum is a partner in Proskauer’s Tax Department. Her practice concentrates on the tax consequences to pension trusts and other tax-exempt organizations of investments in domestic and international private investment funds, including venture capital, buyout, real estate and hedge funds. Amanda advises not-for-profit clients on matters such as applying for and maintaining exemption from federal income tax, minimizing unrelated business taxable income, structuring joint ventures and partnerships with taxable entities and using exempt and for-profit subsidiaries. In addition, Amanda has significant experience structuring taxable and tax-free mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and stock and debt offerings. Amanda also counsels both sports teams and sports leagues in connection with a broad range of tax issues.
Amanda received a B.A. summa cum laude from Yeshiva University in 1995 and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1998. She also received her LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law in 2003. She is a member of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association and a member of the Committee on Taxation of Business Entities of the Bar Association of the City of New York.
