Biography:

Mara Lainie Taylor is a senior associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department and is resident in Proskauer’s New York office.

Mara’s practice focuses on general commercial litigation and white collar defense work which includes a variety of matters in both state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration and mediation. In particular, she has litigated insurance coverage, non-compete, art fraud and intellectual property cases, as well as general business and contract disputes. She has participated in several trials including the WTC insurance trials in the Southern District of New York and an art fraud trial in the Superior Court of Connecticut. Mara has also represented corporate and individual clients in criminal investigations at both the state and federal level.

Mara joined Proskauer in 1998 as a first year associate after receiving her J.D. cum laude from Fordham University School of Law. She received her B.A. summa cum laude from Hunter College of the City University of New York in 1995.

Mara is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of New York. She has also practiced pro hac vice in state court in Connecticut and in federal court in New Jersey and Illinois.

Mara has been an active member of the New Association of the Bar of the City of New York having served on the Committee for Women and the Law and the Insurance Law Committee.
