Biography:

Lisa A. Bauer is an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department of the New York office, where her practice focuses on insurance coverage work.

Lisa focuses on policyholder side insurance coverage litigation, including cases involving large joint defense groups, professional liability policies and securitized transactions. She has participated in both trials and arbitrations. Lisa has also worked on various pro bono cases, including a sexual harassment claim against a county police department, and a juvenile delinquency appeal to the First Department. In the past several years she has been extremely active in coaching and mentoring high school students in Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions in New York City.

Lisa received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law, where she was a College of Law Fellow, a teaching assistant, a member of the Syracuse Law Review and the Moot Court Honor Society, and served on the Board of the Women’s Law Caucus and on the Law Student Senate. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Loyola Marymount University, majoring in humanities and Spanish.

Lisa is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York, the United States Supreme Court, the Eastern District of New York and the Southern District of New York. She has also practiced pro hac vice in state court in Pennsylvania and Colorado. She has been an active member of the New York Women’s Bar Association (“NYWBA”) since graduating from law school, as well as its umbrella organization, the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (“WBASNY”). She has organized the well-attended “What It’s (Really) Like to Practice Law in NYC as a Woman” program for the past several summers, served on the Board of the NYWBA, and currently serves as First Vice President of the NYWBA and is a delegate to the WBASNY Board. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and its Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Committee.

In 2003, Lisa received the Doris S. Hoffman Outstanding New Lawyer Award from WBASNY.
